When I first tried this product, I was not impressed. The bitter flavor seemed overwhelming but I kept nibbling away as I had two pounds of bean fragments lying around. After three days of nibbling, I was hooked. Here is what I love about this product: 1) Energy: Around 2pm, I am ready for a nap. I eat a half tablespoon of these beans and I am ready to conquer the last two hours of work. These beans provide amazing energy. 2) Two ounces replace numerous candy bars: My workplace has too may candy bowls and casual snacking is easy. I fill a little container with two ounces of nibs and slowly eat them throughout the day. The taste and nature of the nibs is conducive to careful, slow eating. Now, instead of popping 10 snickers, I just fill my palm with nibs and I am completely content. 3) Replaces sweet cravings: As noted above, I am no longer eating excessive, sugary sweets at work and I don't miss the super sweet chocolate from the candy bowl. I don't feel deprived and the calorie savings are significant. 4)The recipe possibilities are endless: If the nibs alone do not provide you with enough kick, grind some nibs and blend with your coffee for a delightful chocolate coffee. For tea, I've done something similar by mixing ground nibs with loose tea and then steeping in water to create a phenomenally rich tea. I've purchased bulk granola and sprinkled nibs and almonds in to create a nice snack mix. To create flavorful smoothies, I've also blended these with banana and So Delicious Coconut Milk or Chocolate Silk Soy Milk. There are numerous possibilities with this product so be creative! As a side note, for those that are worried about the bitterness of this product, the company makes a sweetened versionthat is addictive, and admittedly, not as easy to eat in moderation.
I am a huge fan of coconut and chocolate is my weakness. The manufacturer mixes both to create a pretty good product with Cacao Bliss. When I first received this jar, I was not too impressed. The appearance of the product was that of stale/old chocolate. It was crumbly when I tried to dip my spoon in it. I had anticipated a creamy substance. This product is not creamy out of the jar. Unless the entire jar has been left in the sun or in a hot spot, don't expect to dip your knife or spoon in and spread it around on a piece of toast. In terms of eating options, I do recommend heating the product. While I now enjoy eating it in its solid form out of the jar, heating some of the product creates a substance that can be spread easily on toast. I also like taking shavings of this product and sprinkling it on cupcakes. The coconut and chocolate flavor is a subtle addition to any sweet treat. I will note that the flavor took some getting used to. It probably took three to four samplings before I started to really want to eat spoonfuls of the product. I think with any new product that has a slightly different consistency and flavor there is an adjustment period. I'm glad I didn't give up on it and took some time to experiment with how it could be used. I will be incorporating this product into gift baskets for both my vegan and non-vegan friends and family. It is recommended that this product not be refrigerated. As a vegan product, there is no milk, eggs, honey or other animal-based substances that go into the formulation of this product. According to the product packaging, this product is "made in a facility that processes tree nuts and soy, but does not process peanuts, gluten, dairy, cholesterol or GMO's." This product is also sugar cane free. I give this product 4.5 stars. Cacao Bliss is made in the United States
After trying the manufacturer's Cacao Bliss, I wanted to sample some of the manufacturer's other products. I really enjoy macadamia nuts and thought the Macadamia with Cashews butter would be a good product to try. This product is made with just two ingredients -- macadamias and cashews -- and I can say that this product demonstrates what a healthy, good for you food should taste like. The macadamia cashew butter is easily retrieved from the container. There was some oil separation but after a little stirring, one can take a butter knife and quickly spread the substance on a piece of toast or apple slices. When looking at the butter, you will see little pieces of nuts which makes this product product have some texture. This macadamia cashew butter is not as chunky as most chunky peanut butters; the chunks in this product are much finer. I found the flavor to be very much influenced by the raw cashews and actually considered my jar to be more of a cashew butter than a macadamia butter. It is recommended that this product be refrigerated for a longer life. While not noted explicitly on the product's label, I could see nothing that would contradict my belief that this is a vegan product. There is no milk, honey, eggs or other animal-based substances that go into the formulation of this product. According to the product packaging, this product is "made in a facility that processes tree nuts and soy, but does not process peanuts, gluten, dairy, cholesterol or GMO's." As a side note, if you are allergic to cashews, I have not found one of Artisana's butters to be absent of cashews. Artisana products are delicious and simple in their composition. Since purchasing the macadamia nut butter, I have sampled the pecan, cashew and walnut butters. With the exception of the cashew butter, I would buy them all again. For holiday gift giving, I'm definitely going to be packaging several of Artisana's products in gift baskets. They are tasty, natural and unique.

I was very hesitant to try it because most powdered based beverages are simply awful. This particular flavor by NOW Foods is very drinkable and has a nice lemonade (more of a pink lemonade) taste. This product is sweetened with "Better Stevia" and lacks aspartame and acesulfame potassium, which are two additives that have been linked to cancer in rats. Many flavored powdered beverages, including those bearing the Crystal Light, Wyler's and Hawaiian Punch names, have these additives. The directions note that the packet should be poured in a bottle and then shaken. When you mix this in your water, it is a shade of pink. I didn't find that any of the powder floated to the bottom or lumped together. It seemed to disperse evenly throughout the water and dissolve. You need to use a little caution when opening the packet. Compared to other powdered beverages, I found this powder to be made easily airborne. As a powder-based beverage, this is a decently flavored product. It seems to offer a lot of vitamins and has minimal calories. I would recommend it.
This soap is amazing. I give it five stars for the following reasons: 1) First, the smell -- If strong scents easily overwhelm you, this bar is one to try. It has a subtle sweet smell. I look ridiculous smelling my bar of soap but it just smells delightful. 2) When other soaps fail to treat your skin issues, Nubian Heritage does not -- Most people try this soap because of skin issues, including skin sensitivity issues. I am very sensitive to most cleansing products; my face becomes a dry, itching mess quite easily. I also still contend with pimples. This soap helps control my acne without turning my face into a dry, red mess. 3) Your skin was soft once and will be again -- This soap has phenomenal moisturizing properties. It feels great on your skin. I don't have to apply baby oil or moisturizing body lotion because this soap does it all. If your hair becomes dry during particular periods of the year, try washing your hair with this bar rather than using hot oils or protein soaks. 4) Ingredients you can pronounce -- I don't want dyes or heavy chemicals in anything I use but especially on my face. This soap has a straightforward ingredient list. This product is vegan in nature with no animal based products. It is not tested on animals and is made in the United States.
I like Burt's Bees peppermint lip balm; I think it protects well and I like the admittedly strong peppermint essence. Despite my fondness for that product, I have met people that think Burt's Bees peppermint balm stings when it is applied, is too aggressive in its flavoring, and is too thick. Bee-yond Lip Balm is a good alternative for the individuals out there that do not like Burt's Bees peppermint lip balm for these reasons. While it is very clear upon application that this is intended to be a peppermint lip balm, Bee-yond lip balm is much more subtle in its use of peppermint than Burt's Bees. The coverage is lighter than Burt's Bees as well. I don't ever find that there is a thick film upon application. This does lead me to believe that the user has to apply Bee-yound lip balm with greater frequency. I live in the Midwest where it is cold and dry. This lip balm did a good job keeping my lips smooth and moisturized this past winter. I would purchase this product again. This lip balm is made in the United States.
Navitas Naturals makes good products. I've purchased their chia seeds and sweetened and unsweetened cacao nibs. I was satisfied with each. This was my first non-food purchased and I'm equally happy. The balm is an off-white color but it packed with chocolate scent and flavor. The product glides on smoothly and doesn't leave clumps. Some may find the balm to be too oily, but I have dry lips and the oil feels great. The product is made with easy to pronounce and good for you ingredients, including jojoba oil, calendula, and beeswax. If you want a bit of chocolate in your day without the calories, try this balm.
After trying Artisana's Cacao Bliss, Pecan butter and Macadamia Cashew butter with great success, I wanted to sample some of the manufacturer's other products. As a peanut butter fanatic, I thought the Cashini Butter would be a good product to try. It is labeled as a peanut butter replacement and probably could function in that capacity for many people. Taste wise, however, I would recommend all of aforementioned Artisana's products over this one. The macadamia cashew butter is especially good on toast. The Cashini Butter is easily retrieved from the container. There was no oil separation and the product was ready right out of the jar -- no stirring required. One can take a butter knife and quickly spread the substance on a piece of toast or apple slices. There are just three ingredients in the product: 100% organic raw cashews, 100% organic raw sesame seeds and sea salt. I found the flavor to be very much influenced by the sesame seeds and considered this to be a thicker form of tahini. While not noted explicitly on the product's label, I could see nothing that would contradict my belief that this is a vegan product. There is no milk, honey, eggs or other animal-based substances that go into the formulation of this product. According to the product packaging, this product is "made in a facility that processes tree nuts and soy, but does not process peanuts, gluten, dairy, cholesterol or GMO's." I think this is a good product but flavor wise cannot compete with Artisana's other creations. If I had not tried other Artisana products before the Cashini Butter (and if the Cashini Butter was not so reminiscent of tahini), the product would have received a higher rating from me. I would prefer to spread the macadamia cashew butter or pecan butter on toast rather than this cashini butter. Compared to Artisana's other products, the Cashini Butter comes in a larger jar which is a nice feature. Many of Artisana's other jars contain only 7 or 8 two tables

When I received this stick, it wasn't quite what I expected. I thought I would receive a stick that would have a substance inside that could be smoothly and easily applied like a lip balm. Not so. The product is stiff and crumbly and doesn't glide very well across the skin. I also hate the packaging of this product. The user has to push the product up (like a push pop) and this is not always easy; the stiff product gets stuck in the tube and doesn't budge easily. I do like the size of the product. It fits easily in a purse and when applied (after some elbow grease), does moisturize. While it does moisturize, I think that a better moisturizer is coconut oil. Coconut oil can be purchased as a liquid but also within a jar in a solid state. Most coconut oils that are left at room temperature are soft and can be smoothed fairly easily across the skin. This product is made in the United States.
